Vodafone 3G High Speed Broadband Access
Monday, March 13th, 2006Why is it that we can build stealth fighters here, but we can’t deploy high speed wireless technologies as fast as they do in Europe? Maybe someone can explain this to me. I understand people want to make money, but if you are going to upgrade your network to one standard, why not just skip a generation or two so that we can be on par with networks that are deployed all over the world already? Ok, I am done with my rant now.
During the year, 3G broadband will be progressively extended to other cities (Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Aveiro and Leiria this June) and regions of mainland Portugal and the islands, reaching the main urban areas by the end of the year. When a customer moves into areas still without 3G Broadband coverage, the Vodafone 3G Broadband Mobile Connect Card automatically switches to 3G or GPRS, which are available throughout Portugal.
Thanks to 3G technologies being accepted and rolled out in the United States and in Europe,
